Description: a two-year-old herbaceous plant with a thick spindle-shaped branching root, gray-brown on the outside, and white inside. Stems straight, branched in the upper part, high 60-150 cm. Leaves ovoid, consecutive, redwhite colors, collected on the top in baskets. They are bipolar, with wrapped paper like hooks. Blooms June - September.
Chemical composition: contains up to 45% inulin, sesquiterpenic lactone, essential oil, phytosterols, tannins, fats, organic acids, bitter and mucous substances, glucosides, salts of calcium, potassium, magnesium.
Inner: in skin diseases and inflammations, especially eczema, furunculus, acne, seborrhea, rheumatism. The herb has a diuretic, catabolic, stimulating metabolism and cell growth action. It is used in diseases of the kidneys and urinary tract, in radiculitis and joint diseases, inflammations of the stomach and intestines.
External: wounds, burns, hemorrhoids, hair loss.
Preparation: 1 tablespoon of the herb is poured with 400 ml of boiling water, left to stand overnight and strained (dose for one day).
Outside: 1 tablespoon is boiled for 10 minutes in 400 ml of water.
In case of hair loss: 10% extract in olive oil.
internally: in the form of 100 ml extraction 3 times a day before meals.
