Milk vetch herb
Internal: in hypertension, coronary heart disease, cardiovascular failure. The herb has diuretic, expectorant and anti-inflammatory effects. It is used in diseases of the kidneys and urinary tract, in radiculitis and joint diseases, in inflammation of the stomach and intestines, in irregular menstruation and uterine diseases and to increase breast milk.
The Latin name of the herb is Herba Astragali glycyphylli.
Description: perennial large herbaceous plant with strongly branched stem, with ridged, sloping twigs. Leaves with short stalks, unpaired with 4-8 pairs of ovate leaflets. Flowers yellow-green gathered in inflorescences. The fruit is 3-4 cm crescent-shaped beans with smooth seeds.
Chemical composition: contains triterpene saponin glycerol, bitter substances, sugars, flavonoids, proteins, organic acids, sterols, vitamin C, mineral salts and others.
Usage: internally: in the form of an extract of 100 ml. 3 times a day.
Preparation: 2 teaspoons of the herb are poured with 300 ml. water, leave to soak for 1 hour and strain (dose for one day).
