PRODUCT INFORMATION

Iodasept ointment contains povidone iodine as an active ingredient (povidone is an excipient that slows the release of iodine, thereby avoiding the burning effect of the latter on tissues ). Iodasept is a broad-spectrum disinfectant (disinfectant) active against bacteria, viruses and fungi. It also destroys spore-forming strains (microorganisms that multiply by spores), insensitive to sulfonamides and antibiotics.Iodasept in the form of ointment has a long-lasting effect due to the prolonged separation of iodine from the complex. Due to its wide spectrum of action, it is not necessary to determine in advance the type and strain of the causative agent of the infection.

INGREDIENTS: 1. ointment contains active ingredient: povidone iodine-100.;
ingredients: Macrogol 400, Macrogol 4000.

Indications:
IODASEPT ointment is used in:
* skin burns;
* treatment of wounds and varicose ulcers, decubitus (bed sores )
* treatment of wounds with bacterial infection;
* purulent skin rashes (pyodermias);
* skin diseases caused by bacteria and fungi with subsequent infection.
* superficial dermatoses (skin diseases )
Contraindications:
* hypersensitivity to iodine;
* diseases of the thyroid gland;
* do not use during pregnancy and breast-feeding;
* do not apply to newborns and children up to six months of age;
* before and after radioactive iodine therapy.
Side effects: allergic reactions are possible in patients with hypersensitivity to iodine.When applying the preparation to the wound, temporary pain, burning or warming is possible. Reactions of this type are transient and resolve quickly.
Overdose: its long use does not lead to accumulation and the preparation is practically non-toxic with extensive repeated administration of the preparation in patients with thyroid diseases and babies over 6 months of age, monitoring of thyroid function is imperative.

Precautions and warnings: the brown color is characteristic of iodine - containing preparations. Iodasept ointment is easily washed off the skin, and stains on textiles are removed with detergents or with a diluted ammonia solution.Do not use after the expiry date stated on the pack!

Drug and other interactions: before using iodasept consult a doctor!
Iodine interacts with mercury compounds to form highly locally toxic (corrosive) Mercury iodide.When concomitantly applied with enzymatic preparations for the treatment of wounds, the enzymatic component loses its action.Povidone iodine is incompatible with oxygen water.

POSOLOGY AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION:
Dosage: IODASEPT ointment is applied twice a day directly to the wound surface or as a bandage applied to a sterile gauze.In highly inflamed or wet (secreting purulent secretion ) wounds, the dressing can be renewed every 4-6 hours in order to achieve optimal antimicrobial effect.
Method of administration: for use on the skin
Pregnancy and breast-feeding: do not use during pregnancy and during lactation
Effects on the ability to drive and use machines: the use of IODASEPT ointment does not affect the ability to drive and use machines requiring caution.
PHARMACEUTICAL FORM AND PACKAGING:
Pharmaceutical form: masopack : laminant tube, glass jar.
Storage: in original packaging in places protected from light at a temperature below 250 C. Keep out of the reach of children!
Shelf life: 3 (three) years from the date of manufacture.
