Description: Perennial herbaceous plant with horizontal rhizome, which in older plants is covered with dark yellow scales and is often displayed above the ground. The flowers are pink, regular, collected on a number of long handles on the tops of the branches. The plant is hairy, with a pleasant smell. Blooms in April - July.
Chemical composition: Essential oil, containing sesquiterpenic hydrocarbons, ketones and alcohols, also contains tanning substances, phalaphene complex, ellagic acid, mucus, resins, starch.
Application: internally: malignant, hypotensive, sedative in diarrhea (especially in young children), dysentery, cholera, gastrointestinal catarrh, inflammation of the colon, bleeding and abundant menstruation; External: In inflammation of the skin, boils, wounds, hemorrhoids, white blood flow, inflammation of the mouth, gargle of the throat.
Preparation: 2 teaspoons finely chopped roots are soaked in 1/2 liter of cold water for 8 hours and sifted through gauze. The remainder of the straining is used for compresses and swabs.
Usage: Apply only as a cold extract obtained from the roots, three times a day 150 ml before eating.
